Abstract
Text with maximum of 300 words plus an optional page containing up to two figures or tables.
General Guidelines for Oral Presentation:
Each invited speaker is expected to give a 12 minutes oral presentation plus 3 minutes discussion. Each session consists of about 5-6 talks. At the end of each session, an additional period of about 30 minutes is assigned to discuss all talks of the same session. This discussion period will be guided by the chair persons of the session.
Please prepare your presentation in MS PowerPoint. A presentation notebook with a PDF reader and MS Office PowerPoint 2021 will be provided. A laser pointer will be available at the speaker’s podium in the lecture hall. A technical supervisor is available for assistance.
The use of personal notebooks will not be accepted as it may interrupt the flow of the program in the lecture hall.
Please hand in your final presentation on USB flash drive to our technical staff available in the room where the talk is scheduled, no later than 90 minutes before the beginning of your session.
General Guidelines for Manuscript Submission:
Following the acceptance of an abstract by the scientific committee, the invited speaker may prepare an original manuscript of the research work presented in the abstract and submit it as an original full-length (or short communication) research paper directly via Editorial Manager to the Journal of Biomechanics as soon as possible but no later than August 31, 2023.
At the submission site, authors of accepted papers, after having selected the “Article Type” either as a full-length, a short-communication or a review paper, are requested (later at step 4: Additional Information) to indicate that their submission belongs to a special issue and then select “VSI: Invited 4th Berlin Spine Workshop” among the list provided.
The accepted manuscripts, after regular stringent journal peer-review process, will be published as soon as accepted and proofread and once again in a Virtual Special Issue of the Journal of Biomechanics dedicated to this workshop.
General Guidelines for Poster Presentation:
A panel will be allocated for each poster with a display area of 120 cm height x 85 cm width (A0 portrait layout) – please ensure that your poster does not exceed this size. The poster should be self-contained and self-explanatory. Presentations should be kept simple and clearly visible from about 2 meters away with a balanced mix of text and graphics. Posters have to be installed at or before the first day of the workshop. We will organize a separate poster session during which each author should be available to discuss the presented work with the workshop participants.
